Protect a file or folder with a password

Password protection is available on Plus and above.

A file

Open the file, choose Lock in the ••• menu, enter a password of at least 4 characters and press Lock. Share the link and the password separately. To change or remove it, open Lock again.

A folder

Open the folder, choose Lock in its ••• menu and set a password. The folder's share link then asks for the password. Remove lock turns the link off and makes the folder private.

Locked files get a long, unguessable file name and are served through the site, and they stay out of folder share links.
